About SOAK Prayer House
The journey to SOAK prayer house started in Nashville, TN in 2021 as the founders, Chris and Kendra Connors, began to ask God where he wanted them to live with their then family of three. After a challenging season in Nashville entering parenthood in the thick of Covid, they knew they needed to be around family. Yet, Chris and Kendra’s desire to accomplish what God had for them still flickered in their hearts.
While wrestling with where to move, God spoke to Chris in a dream to come to Spokane. Kendra and Chris stepped out in faith and moved to Kendra’s hometown Spokane,WA where both family and ministry awaited. Since then, the couple has believed that God has something in store for them, their neighborhood, and the city at large.
Chris and Kendra moved to the neighborhood of West Central Spokane in 2022 and for three and a half years following continued to pray and ask the Lord what he had for them. They led many worship gatherings in their home as well as in a tent in their side yard, believing for the presence of God to invade West Central.
In October 2025, God moved greatly and made it possible for the house across the street from the Connor’s abode to become the official home of Spofford and Oak. This house is dedicated to what God wants to accomplish in the neighborhood. Since receiving the keys to the house, Chris, Kendra, and her brother Nathan have been hosting prayer every weekday to ask God what he wants for SOAK Prayer House and beyond.
In the new year 2026, the Connors plan to host weekly gatherings in the prayer house where the body of Christ can learn how to hear from God, encourage each other, find confidence in their gifting, and grow in unity with each other.
