Chris and Kendra
Kendra and Chris' worlds collided in late September 2018 when Chris filled in on bass with a band where Kendra was the pianist. Despite their best efforts, feelings were felt. The band lasted for another year and a half but Kendra and Chris are still just getting started.
From the beginning they both quickly realized their similarities in their passions, spirituality, vision, and mission. On their first date they exchanged dreams of future ministry houses that would bring healing, freedom, and where people would realize how much God loved them first hand. The young couple never would expect what God would actually bring these dreams to reality in what is now Spofford and Oak.
He has continued to knit Kendra and Chris together as husband and wife, parents of 4 boys, ministry partners, and band mates.
Origins
When Chris and Kendra were living in Nashville with their first child God spoke to Chris in a dream. God told Chris to come to Spokane in summer of 2021 and without further instruction Chris and Kendra began the moving process from Nashville to Spokane.
They spent the winter of 2021/2022 in Minnesota where Chris reconnected with one of his communities "Godtown (Godtown.org). Godtown offered to send Chris and Kendra to Spokane as urban missionaries under their non-profit organization. In spring of 2022 Chris and Kendra arrived in Spokane as sent urban missionaries from Godtown in Saint Paul Minnesota.
Chris and Kendra discerned that God was calling them to the neighborhood of West Central, Spokane and after arriving, they continued ask the Lord what His mission was for them.
Over the next 3 years Kendra and Chris exercised ministry in sporadic moments. Housing people in transition, hosting worship nights, operating in deliverance and inner healing prayer, and interceding over Spokane. In hind sight, it seems that primarily God was preparing Chris and Kendra for ministry by bringing them through their own process of healing and sanctification.
Spofford and Oak
When Chris and Kendra first arrived in Spokane they still had not received much direction from the lord about why he wanted them to move to Spokane. They decided to name their ministry efforts after the crossroads where that they were sent, Spofford and Oak.
While Chris and Kendra continued to abide in the lord to hear his direction, punctuated by many moments of rest for the lord to work on their hearts, they remained active in serving their communities.
The activities of Spofford and Oak moved from the Connors house, to a tent which was pitched in their side yard, until in October of 2025 an opportunity came to purchase the house across the street which is also located on the corner of Spofford and Oak.
On October 30th 2026 Chris and Kendra are officially launching the ministry Spofford and Oak where they will practice the ABC's in community, disciple the church of Spokane in listening to and being led by the Holy Spirit, in a united effort with the body of believers of Spokane. They seek to help people live in Holiness and full connection to God through the grace that God provides.
