About the founders

Kendra and Christopher were called to Spokane in July of 2021. Immediately, they began the moving process and later were led specifically to the West Central Neighborhood of Spokane, finally landing in March of 2022. They have been operating as urban missionaries in the area since then, getting to know the needs of the area, and God's heart to fill those needs.

For a long time prior, Chris and Kendra both have had a heart for the marginalized, and to bring them into the body of Christ for healing, restoration, and purpose. Also to mobilize the long time Christians who are stuck in spiritual dullness or empty religion.

Kendra and Christopher are both worship leaders who believe that Jesus is the all-sufficient sacrifice for anyone to enter into, and live in, the presence of God. God's very presence has brought healing and new life to them and to the lives of many in their communities. They are committed to the journey of learning how to receive that gift in deeper ways through faith and draw closer to our loving Father through obedience. They hope to bring as many people as they can into these deeper waters.

Current Activities

Spofford and Oak's mission is currently manifested through worship gatherings, one-on-one discipleship, and Freedom Prayer sessions. We believe that through adoration, submission to Jesus, caring for one another, and obedience to the Word and the Spirit of God, Earth will become more and more like Heaven.

Additionally, as we and other members of West Central encounter God through worship and choose Him in a consistent way we will begin to see a change in the spiritual atmosphere of West Central. Which will affect crime, addiction, hopelessness, oppression etc. that we see so much of in our neighborhood and city.

Chris and Kendra regularly offer their spare room up to individuals seeking respite or healing. The purpose being one-on-one discipleship. Obedience is Jesus' love language. We must worship Jesus not only with our words, but also with our actions. We learn how to do this through mutual submission among Sprit filled community and discipleship. One day we hope to have a larger facility with a community of apartments offering discipleship to a larger group.

Freedom Prayer is a method of inner healing that yields great freedom from strongholds, demonic oppression, or any roadblock of faith while maintaining the dignity of each person being prayed for. It is a very simple method that anyone can learn how to do. That's why after over many years and over 15,000 hours of deliverance sessions Chris prefers this method over any other.

Future Goals

We envision having a permanent commercial space to facilitate a united effort of the many churches in Spokane. A common ground where no one church name is promoted but where every member of the greater church can operate as the body of Christ together.

It would be a center of prayer and intercession over our city. Healing and deliverance to anyone in need. A place for the Body of Christ to be the Body, during business hours.

Our duty would be to steward the presence of God and facilitate a space where individuals from many denominations and backgrounds can share leadership and authority, praying for and ministering to our city together.
